This Texas compound really got it right. The interior spaces, courts, porches, and views are all so gracious. This is a lovely and unique home. We spent the weekend here with friends hiking, biking, horseback riding and wine tasting, and this was the perfect place to meet for sharing meals and really enjoying Texas. Am very surprised the Cactus Moon doesn’t come with its own singer songwriter, that’s the only Texas offering that wasn’t covered here!! Loved it!

Girls getaway weekend for 9 high school friends coming from several locations to enjoy the hill country. The minute we found Cactus Moon Lodge, we knew it was perfect. The setup with separate cottages for sleeping and the large/beautiful main house for visiting, cooking, eating, relaxing was just perfect for the occasion! Liz was the best, from initial booking to the day we left, we all loved her. Gracious and accommodating. The views are magnificent, presentation of the rooms and whole place was so inviting when we arrived. At night the stars are shining bright and lovely outdoor lighting makes it feel like you're in a dream. I'm telling everyone about CM, we will be back for sure! Thank you Liz for a great time.

Fantastic ranch with beautiful views

We had a wonderful stay at the Cactus Moon lodge. There is a spacious main house surrounded by individual cabins with bedrooms and bathrooms, which was a great setup for a family get away. It’s very cozy with a fantastic fireplace and nicely decorated. We felt immediately at home.

The ranch is just outside Dripping Springs, which has several really good restaurants and bars. It’s also near a number of great Hill Country Parks.

Liz is a great host and went out of her way to make sure everything is just right.

We’ve made several trips to the Hill Country and this is one place we definitely look forward to coming back to soon.

Our family rented the Cactus Moon for the parents and grandparents of the bride to stay during our daughter's wedding weekend. The Cactus Moon is an amazing property. It is obvious that it was built with love - there is such incredible attention to detail. And it was clearly designed as a comfortable gathering spot for friends and family - nothing was overlooked. We stayed for 3 nights and I wish we could have stayed longer. I am certain we will be back! Everyone who stopped by to visit was stunned by the beauty and the amenities. We had 8 adults that stayed for the weekend - everyone had plenty of space and privacy - and the beds were so comfortable. We hosted a 14 person welcome dinner and everyone had plenty of room. Our group of college friends stayed at the Cactus Moon over a long weekend and loved our stay. First, we enjoyed having a large gathering room but having private bedrooms. That way if someone got up early, they could eat, have coffee, watch TV, etc. without waking anyone else up. We loved the breeze on the porch, and the wonderful courtyard area full of flowers. This house is even more lovely and charming than the pictures portray! VERY beautifully decorated and loaded with all the nice touches for visitors that pleasantly surprise you. Kitchen well equipped, nice dishware, toiletries for shower, lotion, games and cards available, VERY comfortable beds, AC that works well and keep place cool. Its such a perfect layout for one or two families. We were visiting for a wedding at Camp Lucy, which we were trilled is only a short 10 minutes or less away. It you are coming here for a wedding (or just want to experience the hill country) I would HIGHLY recommend this house. Everyone in our family that stayed kept raving about what a cool house it was, and Liz (the owner) was snap on it when we had a slight snafu (our fault) with the cooling. Thank you!!!

My husband and I stayed at this magical ranch with 3 other couples for a long weekend and had the BEST time. The layout is perfect for fun and for rest – with the common areas of kitchen/dining and living in one spot and the sleeping rooms off on their own. The ranch had everything we needed to make a huge dinner and also had hammocks for mid-day snoozing. The Dripping Springs location allowed us to enjoy wine tasting, shopping, dancing, and good eating outside of Austin. The views were also supreme off that back porch. If we are lucky – we will be back for more.

It was super relaxing for the adults, and super fun for the kids. We were able to take quick jaunts to nearby things to do - like the Falls or Stanley's Farmhouse Pizza - but also had tons of pleasure just hanging around the house playing pool or enjoying the amazing views. When you arrive at the gate and begin the ascension to the top of the hill you may wonder, "what am i getting into"? However, when you crest the hill and arrive at the property your doubts begin to cease. This property was perfect for us. We were in Driftwood for our Daughter's wedding, which probably tells most our emotions when we arrived and we had other family as guests with us. The property is uniquely laid out; leaving room for intimacy and gathering spaces for larger crowds. The rooms were impeccably clean, the court yard is beautifully landscaped, the main house was immediately welcoming, the kitchen is huge and what words can begin to describe the view from the large deck onto the surrounding hills? Serene, inspirational and totally relaxing, to name a few. This is one of those properties for which the photos are the real deal. We WILL definitely be staying here again and not just only with a large group; just the two of us. The Host Family was super accommodating and could not have been friendlier. Our review is 5 Stars +++ You want to truly enjoy the Hill Country with unimpeded and non-developed views? Stay here!!!
